With rise in covid cases in 2020 and 2021, the practice of designing a lounge or retreat area came into rise as the families started to give attention to common spaces and gathering spaces. This project was one such project where an existing terrace along with a guest room was supposed to be renovated into a well though terrace garden and lounge room with a mix of open and closed area sitting. The open area was converted into 3 different zones- Deck sitting, Green belt, and a central gathering space. Usage of full body wooden finish tiles in the latter one made the hardscape easy to make with patterns. The former one was done with WPC panels and the same was raised to be floating in the softscape that surrounds it.

The closed area i.e. lounge room and toilet was designed in such a manner that it compliments the external area with rustic wooden laminates on the closets, dark grey texture paint on the tv walls, light grey tiles with customized patterns on the front wall and oak laminated wooden flooring. The electrical fixtures dictated the modernism of the design as everything was sensor based and/or remote based for ease of access.
